PHOTO CD, will it go the way of the 8-track tape? Last year (June '96) Kodak joined with Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard to support the up and coming digital technology, FlashPix, which does the same job as Photo CD, and to some people's thinking, much better. FlashPix is an open image file format that makes it easier for computer users to handle images. Since Photo CD images can be converted to the FlashPix format, Kodak Photo CD officials have been assuring photographers that both products will be available for the long run.
