GROUP MARRIAGE between PC's, TV's, Camcorders, VCR's, and cameras? A printer port device that plugs into a PC or laptop can serve as a bridge to put images from a VCR tape, a camcorder, or any video source into your PC. It's called the "Snappy" and is available at most discount houses. You connect any video source with the included cable. As a photographer you can transfer your photos to your PC. From there you can illustrate your desktop publishing projects, a newsletter, or Web site. Of course, this scenario works if photographers are using their own pictures. What if they "borrow" Copyright H. T. Whitesomeone else's picture(s). This question came up in the early days of photocopying machines and VCR's. Legal precedents established that by law, outright copyright infringement was against the law, but common sense showed that it was fruitless to track down an infringer unless the infringer had deep pockets. With proliferation of the SNAPPY and similar devices, we can expect an avalanche of copyright infringement by innocent infringers. (SNAPPY, PLAY, Inc. 2890 Kilgore Rd, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 (916) 851-0800; FAX: (916) 851-0801. (800) 450 PLAY. $199.95)
