SPEEDY DELIVERY

The World Wide Web knows no limits. Writing in his agency newsletter, Bombay photographer and stock agency director Jagdish Agarwal, reminds his clients that the Digital Age has come to India: "Photographs can now be sent via telephone lines. Not some special cables as you may expect, but the ordinary telephone that you and I use everyday.

"Recently we had a request from a client who could not even give us the time for an overnight courier. He wanted something instantly. So, we sent him the photo through our computer via the worldwide Web on the internet.

"And this image was not like a fax image, which is not usable, but it was a proper photograph which the client could retrieve in colour and print a brochure with!

An achievement indeed when one realizes that until a few years ago, we neither had the television nor the computer nor the fax!"
