Help with Scanning Now that you've got your flatbed scanner up and running, are you wondering how to make the most of it? Well, for a bunch of scanning tips and suggestions (no "tech support") and other tidbits of wisdom, check out this site: http://www.cyberramp.net/~fulton/scans.html. It offers lots of help for beginners (experienced users will benefit, too) on general scanning questions (like, why NOT to scan at the highest resolution), interpolated scanning, etc. There is also a book available (see the site for more info). Internet Tax Freedom Act The Internet Tax Freedom act has cleared an important hurdle in the legislature. It was accepted by the House Commerce Committee by a unanimous vote. The panel's chairman, Tom Bliley (R-VA) said, "The last thing we need right now is for federal or state governments to interfere with the development of these markets." Some changes to the bill can be expected as it worms its way through the process, but it's going in the right direction! Kodak and AOL Kodak has formed an alliance with AOL for AOL's exclusive "You've Got Pictures!" service. In a nutshell, AOL subscribers will be able to take their film to a participating local retailer and, for an additional fee, have the photos uploaded directly to their AOL account via Kodak's Photonet online service, typically within 48 hours of film drop-off. Naturally, there will be an AOL photo album, and you'll be able to order reprints from Kodak and personalized products. |
