It's In The Book

Sell & ReSell Your Photos, now in its fourth edition, continues to gain in popularity, and is widely used as a desk top reference by stock photographers. Here are tips and pointers you'll find in the new edition of the book.

COVER PHOTOS

PAGE 23. Your scenic pictures very often can be candidates for front cover photos for books and magazines. "We don't see enough photos submitted in vertical format for use as a cover," a photo editor told us recently here at PhotoSource International. "And ask your members to leave space for our logo on the top left or right." Shoot in the lowest ISO rating possible, for cover use. This will assure the highest resolution in case the art director will want to use only a portion of your photo. For inside editorial pictures, a good rule of thumb is to leave a dark or light area somewhere in your composition that will allow the graphic designer to place typeface in the area.
